Session 2: Patient Engagement | 9/21/22 @ 10:00 AM PDT
Digital Health Solutions that Patients Want
Glooko’s virtual roundtable series, New Frontiers in Connected Care, brings thought leaders from the healthcare industry together to share their thoughts and insights on innovations in digital health, and the impact technology can have on improving chronic care management.
In our second event of the series, our panel will be focusing on patient engagement. This will be an open discussion with practicing clinicians on how best to educate, coach, and support patients to better manage diabetes and related chronic conditions. There are a wealth of new technologies and programs, all striving to improve clinical outcomes, provide a better patient experience, and be super convenient to use. This webinar will benefit anyone trying to make sense of these various options in order to implement something that patients actually want to use.
Panel members will focus on:
Dr. Mark Clements is Chief Medical Officer at Glooko Inc. He is a Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine, and a pediatric endocrinologist.
Mark is also a clinical researcher of new diabetes treatments and technologies, having served as a principal investigator or co-investigator on more than 30 clinical studies and patient registries. He has served as chair for the Type 1 Diabetes Exchange Clinic Registry, and currently serves as data science co-lead for the Type 1 Diabetes Exchange Quality Improvement Collaborative.
Gary Scheiner is owner and Clinical Director of Integrated Diabetes Services, a practice located just outside of Philadelphia specializing in intensive insulin therapy and advanced education for children and adults.
Gary has been a Certified Diabetes Educator since 1995 and has had Type 1 diabetes since 1985. Gary was named 2014 Diabetes Educator of the Year by the American Association of Diabetes Educators. He has written seven books, including the best-selling “Think Like A Pancreas-A Practical Guide to Managing Diabetes With Insulin”. He lectures nationally and internationally for people with diabetes as well as professionals in the healthcare industry.
Teresa McArthur is the SVP of Clinical Services for Cecelia Health, a virtual-first provider organization delivering integrated care to patients across all chronic disease risk profiles. Teresa is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist with a Masters Degree in Clinical Nutrition.
She has experience working with diabetes, health and wellness, nutrition support, weight and chronic disease management in the inpatient, outpatient and community settings. We strive to enhance the lives of people with diabetes and related chronic conditions by connecting them with their caregivers and equipping both with the tools needed to achieve positive health outcomes, increased access, improved satisfaction and reduced costs.
