Our practicing clinicians discuss how best to educate, coach, and support patients to better manage diabetes and related chronic conditions. There are a wealth of new technologies and programs, all striving to improve clinical outcomes, provide a better patient experience, and be super convenient to use. Dr. Mark Clements is Chief Medical Officer at Glooko Inc. He is a Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine, and a pediatric endocrinologist.
Mark is also a clinical researcher of new diabetes treatments and technologies, having served as a principal investigator or co-investigator on more than 30 clinical studies and patient registries. He has served as chair for the Type 1 Diabetes Exchange Clinic Registry, and currently serves as data science co-lead for the Type 1 Diabetes Exchange Quality Improvement Collaborative.
Gary Scheiner is owner and Clinical Director of Integrated Diabetes Services, a practice located just outside of Philadelphia specializing in intensive insulin therapy and advanced education for children and adults.
Gary has been a Certified Diabetes Educator since 1995 and has had Type 1 diabetes since 1985. Gary was named 2014 Diabetes Educator of the Year by the American Association of Diabetes Educators. He has written seven books, including the best-selling “Think Like A Pancreas-A Practical Guide to Managing Diabetes With Insulin”. He lectures nationally and internationally for people with diabetes as well as professionals in the healthcare industry.
Teresa McArthur is the SVP of Clinical Services for Cecelia Health, a virtual-first provider organization delivering integrated care to patients across all chronic disease risk profiles. Teresa is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist with a Masters Degree in Clinical Nutrition.
She has experience working with diabetes, health and wellness, nutrition support, weight and chronic disease management in the inpatient, outpatient and community settings. Teaching patients how to understand their diabetes and providing them with the tools they need to manage their diabetes has been her passion for many years.
